Buyer Terms


These Buyer Terms and Conditions (“Buyer Terms”) (and the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Seller Terms and Conditions and Returns Policy apply when you buy a product on the Layer Home Marketplace (“the Marketplace”) on (the “Site”). The Site is owned and run by Layer Home Ltd (“Layer”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

The Marketplace allows users to offer, sell and buy second hand and vintage furniture. The actual contract for sale is directly between the seller  (the “ Seller”) and the buyer (the ”Buyer”, “you”, “your”).

While we may provide pricing, shipping, listing, and other guidance on our Site, such guidance is only for your information and you may decide to follow it or not.

We have no control over and do not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised; the truth or accuracy of Sellers’ content or listings; the ability of Sellers to sell items; the ability of buyers to pay for items; or that a seller will actually complete a transaction.

An order for goods (the “Goods”) made on the Site by a Buyer is deemed to be accepted by the Seller when the Buyer receives an email confirmation from the Site.


Delivery of the Goods will take up to 21 days from the time the Order is placed on the Site.

Delivery is charged in addition to the amount stipulated for the Goods on the Site. The cost to you of Delivery is either £49 [per item/ per order]. The amount charged will be shown on the product page and in your basket before you check out and pay for your order.


You have 7 days from receipt of the Goods to change your mind about buying the Goods  (the “Cooling Off Period”).

If you change your mind about buying the Goods before the end of the Cooling off Period, you can return the Goods to the Seller. You are liable for the cost of delivering the Good back to the Seller.

At the time of delivery, you must inspect the items and immediately report any defects or damage to us. You have 24 hours from the receipt of the Goods to contact us ( with the order number, the details and photos of the alleged damage. If, in our reasonable opinion, the Goods have been damaged [in transit] we will process the refund within 28 days of receiving notice that the Goods are damaged.

We deliver to mainland England, Scotland and Wales.  If you are not available at the agreed delivery slot, you are liable to pay for the next delivery plus any storage fees incurred by us as a result of your failure to be available at the appointed delivery slot.

Local Pick Up (no delivery fee) is available as an option, please select this at checkout if that is your preferred option. If, once you arrive to pick up your Goods, you don’t like the Goods, leave the Goods at the Local Pick Up and contact us immediately at


Purchases must only be paid for through the Site’s payment facility. We will process the payment and pass the proceeds onto the Seller after your Cooling Off Period has expired. We reserve the right to refuse to process any transaction for any reason at our sole discretion.

Accuracy and listings

All graphical representations and descriptions of Goods listed by Sellers, as well as any applicable warranties, whether express or implied, shall be solely binding upon them.

Where listings or advertisements involve antiques, collectibles and one-of-a-kind pieces, you must obtain any relevant certificates and warranties from the Seller prior to completing the transaction. We expressly exclude liability for any claims or disputes regarding the origin, authenticity or condition of Goods listed on the Site.

In the event of a dispute with a Seller, you are required to take all reasonable steps to resolve the matter directly including making your case directly to the Seller in the first instance.  If you are still unable to resolve a dispute with the Seller and you choose to escalate the claim to us, you authorise us to investigate the matter on your behalf and to be bound by our final decision.
